Pupil Premium

Pupil Premium is additional government funding provided to schools to help improve outcomes for disadvantaged pupils and to reduce the attainment gap between disadvantaged students and their peers. This funding enables us to provide targeted academic, pastoral and enrichment support, helping students to thrive both in and beyond the classroom.

Our Pupil Premium strategy focuses on:

·       Delivering high-quality teaching and learning in every classroom.

·       Raising attendance and improving engagement with school.

·       Providing targeted support and intervention in areas such as literacy, reading and academic achievement.

·       Supporting students' wellbeing, confidence and resilience through pastoral and mentoring programmes.

·       Broadening aspirations through careers guidance, educational visits, enrichment activities and extra-curricular opportunities.

·       Working closely with families to remove barriers to learning and ensure every student can access the support they need.

From September 2026, eligibility for Free School Meals (FSM) has been expanded nationally to include all children from households receiving Universal Credit. Schools continue to receive Pupil Premium funding for eligible disadvantaged pupils, including those who have been eligible for Free School Meals within the last six years, children who are or have previously been looked after, and children from service families.

We encourage all eligible families to register for Free School Meals, as this can unlock additional support and resources for both students and the school.
