Uniform

Using feedback from parents, governors and our student council, the uniform for the school has been changed. The changes are intended to make it easier to wear and all core items can be bought in multiple stores

School Uniform 

  • Plain black trousers or skirt of a formal and smart appearance, with a plain black belt - no jeans, skinny trousers, leggings, chinos or any trousers cropped in length. Skirts must be of an appropriate length 
  • Plain white stiff collared shirt with long or short sleeves. This means a shirt with a fastening top button and suitable for wearing the school tie and tucking into trousers/skirt 
  • A plain black round or v-neck jumper (optional to have school logo; no other branding/logos are permitted) 
  • Socks - black, grey or white.  Tights - black or neutral.
  • Plain black polishable footwear 
  • A school tie in school colours (blue and yellow) 

Optional items 

  • A black blazer with school logo can be worn as part of the uniform 
  • A school hoodie in house colours
  • In half term 6 (after May half term holiday), tailored shorts can be worn as part of the uniform; a white collared polo shirt can be worn as part of the uniform, without a tie 

Jewellery 

This should be limited to a watch, one plain ring and a maximum of one plain stud in each ear.  Nose studs and studs in other parts of the body are not permitted. 

- Extremes of fashion in dress or appearance, including hair styles, should be avoided. 

PE Kit 

Students will also require the following items of kit: 

  • Plain navy polo shirt 
  • Plain navy shorts 
  • White ankle socks or navy football socks 
  • Trainers (not black soles) 
  • Your child may wish to also wear the following items (optional not compulsory) as an extra layer to keep warm 
  • Plain navy tracksuit bottoms 
  • A round neck plain navy jumper 
  • Mercia rugby shirt – navy with sky blue stripe reversible with school logo 

*We want students to be safe when taking part in dance and therefore insist that students are barefoot (socks are a slip hazard) or have black ballet or split sole jazz shoes. Examples can be found in these links:

There are times through the year when students take part in activities such as football, rugby and hockey and for safety reasons need to wear additional items. We have a small supply of items to lend; these are available on a first come first served basis. 

  • Shin pads 
  • Football boots 
  • Gum shield (for contact sports – available to purchase directly from the PE office
